Richard Paul Kaptain of Orlando, FL passed away December 14, 2022 at 4:05 AM. He was the son of Paul & Julia Kaptain of Elgin, IL. He was born on January 26, 1929. He attended the University of Illinois and received a Masters degree in Engineering. He served 2 years as a US Army Corporal during the South Korean War as an engineering consultant with the Korean Military Advisory Group. He retired in 1995 as a Director for the Sanitary District of Decatur, IL after 20 years of service. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Elks Club and the Moose and also served with the Military Honor Guard.

He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Carol Ann Miller Maxwell Kaptain, 2 children of a previous marriage to Barbara Kaptain, Neal R Kaptain and Jenny A Kaptain; 2 stepchildren, Timothy S Maxwell and Deborah K Siebern; 6 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.

He was loved by all.
