Richard "Dick" Kennedy, 83, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024. Born on September 19, 1941, in Queens, New York, he was the son of Richard Kennedy and Mary Doyle Kennedy. He grew up on Long Island, NY, and graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Dick enjoyed a successful career in the food production industry, working with companies such as Stouffer's and Citrus World. Later, he specialized in designing conveyors and certifying home building plans.

He and his beloved wife, Susan, raised three sons and shared a love for outdoor activities, including camping, boating, and shooting. Dick also had a passion for golf and tennis, which he pursued throughout his life.

He is survived by his sons, Dr. Kevin Kennedy (Audra) and John Kennedy; his grandchildren, Brittany Kennedy Jameson (Hugh), Jackson Kennedy, and Jillian Kennedy; his great-granddaughter, Nora Jameson; and several nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 44 years, Susan Hampel Kennedy; his son, Scott Richard Kennedy; and his sister, Joan Kennedy Bach.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
