It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard S. Ludian, who left this world on June 21, 2025, in Spring Hill, Florida, at the age of 78. Born on August 26, 1946, in Rochester, New York, Richard lived a life filled with love, dedication, and a passion for the beauty of the world around him.

Richard graduated from Webster High School, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and commitment. Out of high school, Richard joined the Army where he did not one, but two tours in Vietnam with his 101st Airborne comrades. After the Army he devoted his career to the construction industry, where his skills and work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

On September 28, 1985, Richard married the love of his life, Robin L. Boekhout. Their 40 years together were marked by unwavering support, shared dreams, and countless cherished memories. Richard was a devoted husband, and his love for Robin was evident in every aspect of their life together.

A proud member of the Webster American Legion, Richard held a deep appreciation for his community and the values it represents. He was known for his warm smile and friendly demeanor, making friends wherever he went. His passion for the Thousand Islands was a defining aspect of his life, where he found joy in nature and the tranquility of the waters.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Robin Ludian; his cousin, Michael McCarthy (Tonya); his brother-in-law, Brian Schreiber (Donna); his father-in-law, Charles Derrenbacher; his son, Richard Ludian; his cousin, Donna McCarthy; and a multitude of friends who will forever remember his kindness and generosity.

As we celebrate Richard's life, we remember a man who embodied strength, love, and a zest for life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace, Richard. Your spirit will forever shine brightly in our memories.
