Richard McCullough Winters

Richard McCullough Winters II of Ft. Myers Beach, passed away on February 9, 2024.

A family memorial service will be held in Ft. Myers Beach later this spring.

Richard (Dick) was born in Quincy, Illinois to Richard and Virginia Winters on August 18, 1947.

He graduated from Quincy Senior high and attended Purdue and Bradley University. He then joined the US Marine Corp.

He married Patti Wombles on August 22, 1992 and was previously married to Irene Villa and Paula Wegman.

He worked in the family business JM Winters & sons also Titan Wheel and was co-owner of Hot Bike of Quincy.

Dick was predeceased by his parents, brother Steve Winters, brother-in-law Harold Knapheide II and nephew Regan Knapheide. He is survived by his wife Patti, sons Richard Winters III, Brandon Winters (Dana), Evan Wombles and also by daughter Lindsey Luthy (Brian), sister Ann Knapheide, brother Michael Winters and 13 grandchildren and a nephew and niece.

As Dick was an Eagle Scout it was his wish for memorials to be sent to the Boy Scouts of America.
