Richard David
Maselli
Jun 14, 1945 — Oct 14, 2026
Ormond Beach, FL
Richard David Maselli, 81, of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
Born June 14, 1945, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Joseph Pippino (JP) Maselli and Adeline “Lena” Maselli (Coletta).
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era before becoming a firefighter with the Providence Fire Department. His service reflected the strength and sense of responsibility that his family would know throughout his life.
He was the beloved husband of Christine Maselli (Carrara). In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his son, Christopher Maselli, and his wife, Gia Maselli; his daughter, Danielle Millio, and her husband, Justin Millio; and his grandchildren, Gian, Giuliana, and Francesca Maselli. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Castaldi, and brother, Dominic Maselli.
Richard enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, relaxing at the beach, and car shows. Above all, he loved his family. He was the person they turned to for advice, reassurance, and an honest opinion—and Richard always had one to give. His humor could light up the room, and his stories and life lessons had a way of staying with you long after the conversation ended.
To those who loved him, Richard’s absence will be felt in the everyday moments: a question they wish they could ask him, a story they wish they could share, or a familiar joke they can almost hear him telling. His legacy lives on in the strength he gave his children, the memories he made with his grandchildren, and the love his family will continue to carry.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society in Florida. A private family memorial gathering will take place in Rhode Island, on a date to be announced by the Maselli family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made toward refinishing the doors of the Chiesa dei Cappuccini (Santa Maria delle Grazie), a historical landmark in Frosolone, Italy.
Originally, the doors were purchased by Richard’s grandfather for the church. These doors are a lasting connection to the Maselli family’s roots and the generations who came before them. Refinishing them in Richard’s memory will honor his life and preserve the legacy his grandfather helped build, allowing one generation’s work to become another generation’s tribute. These doors will stand as a lasting connection to the Maselli family’s heritage—honoring those who came before, remembering Richard, and preserving that legacy for every generation of Maselli’s to follow.

His family will forever miss his voice, his laughter, his advice, and his presence. They will carry him with them—in the stories they tell, the lessons they pass down, and the love they give one another.
