Richard Ardon Mercier 83, of Port St. John, Florida passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2024. Dick was born on August 11, 1941 in Portland, Maine to Ardon and Verna (Billie) Mercier. He graduated from Colonie High School in 1959, attended the US AirForce Academy, and received his Bachelor's degree from Russell Sage College in 1965. Dick worked for IBM, Honeywell, and NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services where he spent over 25 years as a systems analyst and computer programmer. When he retired, Dick moved to Callawassie Island in South Carolina – a place he chose because he was an avid golfer and lover of nature.

Dick is survived by his sister Peg Pucci, and brother-in-law Dominick Pucci of Port St. John, Florida. Peg and Dominick spent the last few years helping Dick as his health declined, even going so far as having him move in right next door to them and including him in all aspects of their lives! His faithful and loving companion Myla, has been adopted by Peg and Dominick. The family is so grateful for their love and care.

Dick is also survived by his 3 children and their families: Wendy Kisselback (Paul, Valerie, Reid, and Jamie) of Cohoes NY, Stacey Mercier Smith (Jim) of Clifton Park NY, and Derek Mercier (Marie, Madeline, Allison, Maren, and Theodora) of Mint Hill NC.

He was predeceased by both of his parents and many cherished dogs.
