Rick was a devoted husband, father, and friend whose warmth, curiosity, and steady presence touched everyone who knew him. He grew up in Massachusetts, where he found the love of his life, Beth, later moving their family to Orlando.

Rick and Beth were blessed with two wonderful sons, Dave from St. Petersburg, Florida, and Jonathan (Katie) from Delaware, Ohio.

Rick had a lifelong passion for the creative arts. An amateur photographer, he was always ready to capture a meaningful moment or a beautiful view. He enjoyed making stained glass items, including a remarkable "Tiffany" lamp.

He loved cars, especially his Bonneville, 442 and Corvettes for their classy design and speed, and appreciated the thrill of the open road!

Additionally, Rick had a deep love of music, playing the organ with his friends, Dave, Dick and Rollie, in a rock band in the 70s.

Rick had a genuine enthusiasm for technology. He was often the first among family and friends to explore the latest gadget or innovation. His early career in Information Technology brought him to challenging positions at MIT, New England Telephone and AT&T. Later, to Spectrum, CIBER, and lastly to Custom Recruiting Solutions working with a dear friend, owner Penny, at Custom Recruiting Solutions, Inc.

Faith was central to Rick's life. Raised Catholic, he and his wife served as Eucharistic Ministers, Sunday School teachers, and as mentors coaching engaged couples on their journey towards marriage. They later found a warm, welcoming, spiritually-enriching home in the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection (ECR), Longwood, Florida. Rick, with his sweet tenor voice, joyfully sang with the amazing ECR Choir for many years. Rick was also a graduate of the Education for Ministry (EfM) four-year course study, reflecting his deep and lasting commitment to learn more about his faith.

Together Rick and Beth were long-time members of Marriage Encounter. The happily married couple were just shy of their 57th Wedding Anniversary (October 19).

Survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Hegner) Pitts, devoted sons, David Pitts, Jonathan (Katie) Pitts, sisters Annette Roberts and Dorothy Morrell, and many beloved nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents, John Angus Pitts, Mary Agnes Pitts, and his sister, Mary Degan.

Rick loved his family, friends and church family and will be dearly missed by many.
