Dick was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Crown Point, IN. He served our nation in the US Navy during WW II and attended Northwestern University. Dick founded and operated three business' including Same Day Courier Service in Carmel, IN which is still in operation. He was an avid golfer, sailor and sports fan. He was a member of Murat Shrine, Big Brothers Association and active with Citizens On Patrol for the New Smyrna Beach Police Department and member of Trinity Lutheran Church New Smyrna Beach. Richard made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 48 years Barbara, daughters Rhonda Reilly and Cheryl (David) Brentlinger, two granddaughters Cindy and Amy Brentlinger, brother Patrick (Joan) Reilly, sister Sheliah (Bill) Therkildsen and brother in law Ron Hahn. Celebration of Life for Richard Joseph Reilly, New Smyrna Beach FL who died May 15, 2010 will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church 485 Turnbull Bay Road New Smyrna Beach FL with The Reverend Don Reiter officiating. Committal will be at Carmel Cemetery I Carmel, Indiana.
