Richard Roorda, 60,  went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2017.  He was born to John and Frances Roorda on February 20, 1957 in Middletown, New York.  He served proudly in the US Army for four years.  Richard enjoyed bowling, volunteering at his church which included a missions trip to Russia, making people laugh, working with Habitat for Humanity, and being an amazing salesman.   He is survived by a long list of family that include his brothers; John (Cindy) Roorda, Stephen Roorda, James Boyce, Tim Roorda, Tom Roorda; sisters, Karen (Tony) Ortiz and Tammy (Mark) Patton; father, John (Edwina) Roorda; mother, Frances (Emil) Larouchelle; one child, Erika Lazaro; one grandchild Mia Lazaro; four nieces and nephews, Jediah Patton, Arielle Patton, Tim Collins, and Ben Collins.  A Celebration of his life will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Ocala on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM .  Military Honors will be rendered at 2 PM with a gathering of friends and family to follow who will share in the memories of his life.   In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to Habitat for Humanity or any shelter that helps those in need of Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation.
