Richard Vincent Rubeo Obituary

Richard V. Rubeo of Englewood, Florida passed away on March 9th, 2026 leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will carry his memory with them always.

Richard was born on April 20th, 1958 in Worcester, Massachusetts, to his parents Betty and Vincent Rubeo who both preceded him in death.

Richard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army before going on to work as a CDL driver. He was a hard working man who took pride in what he did (driving those trucks and making those wheels shine) and in the life he built for his family.

One of Richard's greatest passions in life was cars. He loved NASCAR, hot rods, muscle cars, and riding his motorcycles. He could spend hours talking about them. He enjoyed watching Barrett Jackson and going to car shows, admiring the craftsmanship and power of the vehicles he loved so much. Cars weren't just a hobby for him—they were something that truly excited him.

Those who knew Richard knew he could be a little stubborn at times, but that was part of what made him who he was. Beneath that tough exterior was someone who loved and deeply cared for his family, and the people closest to him.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Ieva Rubeo, his daughters Brittany and Bridget Zamjahn; his son in law James Lonesky and was a loving grandfather to Landon, Anthony, Lily, Ayden and Ella, who brought him tremendous love and joy.

He is also survived by his sister Kim Morreale, his brother in law Rich Morreale, his niece Amber Morreale Joyner and his nephews John and Daniel Cutter.

Richard’s family will remember him for his passion, his determination and all the things that brought him joy. Though he may be gone the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in our hearts forever. He will be deeply missed by all that loved him.

"Though his engine has gone quiet the love and memories he left behind will keep his spirit racing in our hearts forever."
