Richard A Tharp, New Smyrna Beach FL died Thursday, November 8, 2012. He was born in Iowa City, Iowa. He served our nation in the United States Air Force and spent his working career as an over the road driver. During his youth he was an avid baseball player for the Courthouse Tigers in Clinton IA. He retired to Florida in 1977 where he enjoyed his hobbies collecting John Wayne movies, fishing, bowling and his family. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Chicago Bears fan. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years Ann, children Jim and Shelley Tharp of New Smyrna Beach, Cheryl and Steve Miller of Savanna, IL, David Tharp of New Smyrna Beach and Sandy and Neil Johnson of New Smyrna Beach, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah Miller.
