Richard Williams, 75, of Lehigh Acres, FL passed away July 2, 2023. Richard was born in Sumner, Georgia May 22 nd , 1948, to the parents Mr. Isreal Lee Williams and Mrs. Etheal Phillips-Williams. He was married for 17 years, and two children were born from that marriage, Richard Lee Williams and Nicole Irvette Williams. He attended school in Georgia at Charlie A. Gray Elementary and William Bryant High School until the 9 th grade. He then moved to complete Highschool at Miami Jackson Senior High School.
Upon graduation, Richard enlisted in the United States Army, in June of 1966, where he fought in the Vietnam War and obtained the rank of sergeant and received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, and a Sharpshooter (Rifle) Citation. After honorably completing his military service in May of 1969, he chose to continue his education.
Richard attended Miami Dade College and received an Associate of Arts degree. He attended The Ohio University and received his Bachelor of Specialized Studies.
He achieved several Certifications, including a certificate from Central Data Institute-An educational Service in Programing Technology. He received a certificate from Control Data Institute-An Educational Programming Technology course in Complex Systems Availability and Recovery. He earned a *Certificate of Achievement from MVS Advanced Operation in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Lastly, he received a Certificate of Completion as a Legal Clerk.
He was the Computer Operations Manager for Florida Power and Light and retired from Florida Power and Light. He had an interest in Entrepreneurialism, His hobbies included going to Plays, Theatres, and Concerts. He also enjoyed golfing. He was also a member of the Sigma Phi Beta Fraternity. He was a dedicated member of Bethel Baptist Church in Richmond Heights, FL and became a dedicated member of New Life Assembly in Lehigh, Acres FL. Even when his health began to fail, he faithfully attended online service every Sunday.
Richard is survived by his children Richard and Nicole and his grandchildren who he loved very dearly Nymiah, Richard Xavier, Lincoln and Kennedy. His sister Emma Jean Allen and Nieces Lanora Allen and Sonya Allen and a host of other relatives.
He is preceded in death by His Father Isreal Lee Williams, Mother Etheal Phillips-Williams and Sister Lorine Webb

A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Tuesday, July 18 th , 2023, at New Life Assembly; 5146 Leonard Blvd. S., Lehigh Acres, Fl 33973. Visitation will be held at 10:30am with service starting promptly at 11:30am. The family will welcome friends for a time of refreshments and fellowship after the conclusion of services.
