Richard Gordon Wylie, Age 92 of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on June 7, 2026. He was born on Feb 2, 1934 in Gary, Indiana. Richard (Dick) retired from the Cape Coral Police Department in 1992. He moved to Cape Coral in 1969 after a career as a Photo Journalist at Gary Post Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times where he earned a Emmy award. In Cape Coral, he worked for Gulf American Corp, he also was a officer with Florida Fish and Wildlife and worked at The Cape Coral Breeze as a reporter before joining the Cape Coral Police Department in 1976. Richard (Dick) served 4 years of Military service between USMC and Navy reserves. Richard (Dick) enjoyed fishing and travelling in his motor home. 

Richard ((Dick) is survived by his son Richard (Stacy), of Cape Coral, Fl. grandchildren, Ashley Archibald (Ryan), Steven Wylie (Rachel),Devin Wylie, Kendall Wylie and step-grandson Jacob Palmer (Maxine), great grandchildren Grant Wylie, Gavin Wylie, Reid Wylie and Greyson Archibald. He also is survived by cousins Richard Ralph, Gregory (Randall)Ralph, Michael Jay Ralph, and Linda Diane Ralph. He was preceded in death by his parents George Wylie and Marcella Wylie (Pollock).

Celebration of Life will be Monday, June 15th from 1-3 pm at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home and Crematory 4320 Colonial Blvd , Fort Myers, FL.
