Richard Wierk Yeats, 69, of Edgewater, Fl., passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2026. 

Richard was born at the US Army Hospital at Westpoint and grew up in upstate NY, Greece, and Satellite Beach, Fl., where he graduated high school. He went on to management at Kinney Shoes, worked for Kay Jewelers, did irrigation work, and finally Parks & Rec for the City of Ormond. He loved being outdoors, gardening, working on his Mustangs and riding his Harley. He loved his little dogs who were his best companions as his health declined over the years. 

He is predeceased by his mom, Janette Wierk Yeats; dad, Richard Harrington Yeats; and step-mom, Trudy Yeats. 

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Merritt Yeats; sister, Yvonne Gonsalves; nieces, Eliza Gonsalves (Michael Staib), Kate Strickland (Jesse), Jessica Parzanese (Michael) and Rebecca Camara; and five grand nephews and one grand niece; also a half-brother, Richard Newton Yeats of CA. 

No service will be held at this time, a celebration to be held at a later date. Services were handled by Baldwin Brothers.
