Richard Arthur Zimmer, 79, of Ocala, FL passed away on March 9,  2023. He was born on July 18, 1943 to Arthur and Eileen Zimmer in Rochester, NY. Richard loved being on the golf course along with shooting clay and hunting. He also loved music (especially the Bee Gees), and his fur babies, Loki and Yoda. Richard was a Doctor of Dentistry, and a Lieutenant in the US Navy.

Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Zimmer of Ocala, FL; daughter, Marnie Messett (Chris) of NY; two granddaughters, Madeline and Meg; an adored son, Kirk Zimmer (Casey) of AZ; step-children, David Flaherty, Thomas Flaherty, Charles Flaherty, Kelly Flaherty, Lucas & Keri Flaherty, Derek McNamara; 15 step-grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dawn; brother-in-law, Robert (Heta); an aunt, Patricia Aker; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Caryn Zimmer; and parents, Arthur & Eileen Zimmer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 7081 SE Hwy 42, Summerfield, FL 34491, officiating the service will be Rev. Rafal Kandora. Committal Service is to follow at 2:00pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
