Ricky "Z-Man" Daniel DePue, age 59, of Yankeetown, Florida, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on November 14, 2022. Ricky was born on May 20, 1963, to his parents, Edwin and Eileen in Ionia, Michigan. He worked for most of his life as a heavy equipment operator, owned his own business, and had a strong passion for animals and the outdoors. Ricky enjoyed spending time with loved ones, hunting, boating, and was the proud owner of Twisted Oak Hunting Camp for much of his life. He was a social, active man who was deeply loved by many. His family and friends will always remember him as a caring person with a heart of gold, someone who always made them laugh, and an amazing person.
Ricky is survived by his mother, Eileen Procunier; stepfather, Joseph Procunier; brothers, Randy DePue, Edwin "Joe" DePue, Myron "Mike" Procunier; his sister, Debra Duerr; his daughters, Alysia Stiles, Katy Alexander, Erika DePue; his grandchildren, Aiden, Kaylee, Connor, Caleb, Carson, and Evander; and his beloved dog, Buddy. He is preceded in death by his father, Edwin DePue.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 11:00 am at Shipwreck Lounge in Inglis, Florida. The family would like to thank the amazing care team at UF health who fulfilled Rick's final wishes, Eric Erkel for being a steadfast friend to Rick, and all the friends and family who supported him during his most difficult times leading up to his passing. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be sent to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Ricky.
