Rita Faye Nickels (née Welkley), of Titusville, FL passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 9th, 2024.  She was 80 years old.

Rita is survived by by her husband, George Nickels of Titusville, FL; her sons David Nickels of Tampa, FL and Joshua Nickels of Titusville, FL; her brother Jimmy Haughey of Magalia, CA; her sisters Pauline and Bob Fanning of Eureka Springs, AR and Susan and Oscar Creger of Fayetteville, AR; .  She is preceded in death by her parents Edwin "Ed" Bartlett Welkley and Allie Lucinda Welkley; her brothers Gerald Wayn Haughey, Donald Eugene Haughey and Donnie Lee Welkley and her sister Wanda Lucille Miles.

Rita was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife and mother.  She created an amazing home for her family as well as a welcoming stop for all the neighborhood children after school.  Rita was incredibly talented and creative as most of her time was spent sewing, crocheting and creating digital art.

She will be missed dearly by all.
