Robert “Bob” John Baker, 82, passed away on October 12th, 2026 after a brief illness. Pop Pop, to his family, and Bobby, to his friends, was born July 12th, 1944 in Flushing, NY to William and Lillian Baker. He was a 1962 graduate of Sarasota High School.

Bob worked at Sears for 37 years in many capacities. He made many friends there who continue to be in his life until this day. The last 15 years he worked as a property manager for Oasis on Osprey apartment condominium community.

Bob liked fishing, playing cards and sports. During his earlier years, he was the manager of the Oyster Bar Semi-Pro basketball team. Bob was always one to speak his mind and valued his friendships.

Bob was married for almost 61 years to his loving wife, Sandi. Pop Pop and Grandma liked to travel and visit new places. They liked watching tennis, golf and the Rays and Bucs.

Pop Pop is survived by his wife, Sandi and their 2 sons, Joe his wife, Cara and grandson Joey and Dave and his wife, Shawn and grandsons Alex and Nick.

A celebration of life is planned for October 23rd at the Palms Memorial Park at 10:00 am on Honore and Fruitville Road in Sarasota.
