Robert “Bob” Hans Schwerdtfeger, 88, passed away on November 4, 2026, in The

Villages, Florida.

Bob was born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late William Richard

Schwerdtfeger and Katharyn Mitchell Schwerdtfeger.

A proud veteran, Bob served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 to

1961. He later graduated from the University of South Florida and enjoyed a long

career with GTE Data Services in Tampa, Florida, retiring in 1998.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Esther Ciani Meinhardt; his daughters, Janet

Roberts (Rick), Debra Langshaw (Rick), Susan Jolley (Lee), and Amy Holliday

(Mike); 12 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. His family was an important

part of his life, and the memories they shared with him will be treasured always.

Bob had a lifelong love of model trains and took great joy in collecting and sharing

his enthusiasm for them. In The Villages, he embraced an active life and enjoyed

spending time with friends while golfing, playing bocce, and participating in water

volleyball.

More than anything, Bob will be remembered for the place he held in the hearts

of those who loved him. He was loved more deeply than he ever knew and will be

missed beyond words. His presence, his stories, and the memories created over a

lifetime will remain with his family and friends forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the

Truman Recreation Center, 2705 Canal Street, The Villages, Florida. Bob will be

laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Bob’s memory to the Tunnel

to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
