Robert (Bob) Cheeseman (Cheese) passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Bob was born on November 7, 1953 in New London, Connecticut to parents James and Sally Cheeseman. After graduation from Ledyard High School, Bob was drafted by the New York Mets. Bob never made it to the big leagues, but was always involved in sport, coaching girls softball, umpiring, golfing and playing Florida half century softball.

Bob later moved to New Hampshire where he met the love of his life, Denise Power. They moved to Edgewater, Florida in 1999 where they created their own piece of paradise. Bob and Denise lived life to the fullest, never meeting a stranger. Bob loved going to Disney, traveling, hunting, fishing, and 70's music.

While in New Hampshire, Bob served many roles as a supervisor and in accounting with Moore Business Equipment in Dover, NH. After moving to Florida, he dedicated over 10 years in accounts receivable to Surgical Services and later SMA Behavioral in Daytona, Florida. Before his retirement, Bob's job was a bus driver with Volusia County Schools, which he was especially passionate about and cherished the memories created there.

Bob was preceded in death by his dad, James Cheeseman (the Big Cheese) and mother, Sally Robichaud; and his parents in law, Joan and Stephen Power; and brother-in-law, Raymond Power (Myrtle).

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Denise; son, Mykl Dunning (Andrew); daughter, Heidi Reilly (Brodie); granddaughters Ireland and Haleigh; step-son, Mark Hawker; step-daughter, Lisa Hawker; granddaughter, Jaidyn; sisters, Vicky Gale (Alan), Karen Bowerman, and Denise Welsh; brother-in-law, Roger Power (Ann Marie) along with many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place on September 12th at 11am at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Following the service, the family will be holding a gathering at 12:30pm at The Live Oak Cultural Center in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
