Robert "Bob" Curnutte, 86, of Edgewater, Florida, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026 after a brief illness. 

Born in East Liverpool, Ohio to the late Kathryn and Paul Curnutte, he grew up following in the footsteps of his grandfather, "Dad Lucas," whose principles he lived throughout his lifetime: "keep your word, pay all debts when due, and treat other people the way you want to be treated." This lifetime philosophy was his mantra. He completed his Air Force service at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, Florida, where he "got sand in his shoes." 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, daughters Brenda Fink, Deena Page, Cindy Jensen, and son William, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nanette, and their son Robert Jay. 

He married Mary Jane Dell in 1979, in Orlando, Florida. After his retirement from AT&T, he and Mary Jane moved to Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, for a few years, then returned to Florida. They resided in southeast Volusia County, where he loved to fish with his buddies, and to feed and watch wildlife, especially the squirrels. Soon after locating in "the fish camp," he befriended many men named "Bob," one of whom nicknamed him "Half-Inch Breaker-bar Bob" but it was quickly shortened to "Half-Inch." 

Loved by all who knew him, he was very kind and caring, and touched many lives with his generosity. His wit and unique sense of humor were remarkable. He enjoyed Jeopardy and did the crossword puzzle daily, always in ink. He was a member of American Legion Post 17, New Smyrna Beach, and the Dolphin Athletic Club, Edgewater. 

Cremation will be by Baldwin Brothers, New Smyrna Beach.

Private services will be held in Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to a charity of your choice.
