Robert Leander Frost, 86, of Fort Myers, FL., passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. He was born December 28, 1930 in Boston, MA to the late Leander Frost and Margaret Smith Frost Beck.
Robert (Bob) was a first generation American; his parents emigrated from Falmouth, Nova Scotia. He was born the oldest son, one of nine children. Bob entered the U. S. Military in 1948. Serving in Korea where he sustained wounds and remained in the military further serving in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star 1970 and military citations for his services in both wars, retiring in 1978 as a Master Sargent. Bob enjoyed the comradery of his friends, and always spoke in high regards of the relationships he made and continued to do so up to his death.
Bob settled in Falls Church, VA where he worked at Linear Corp. with an executive position, retiring in 1995. He loved to play pool and bowl and appreciated the Arts. Moving to Florida at the time of his Wife's death, he enjoyed his remaining years with his Children and Grandchildren. Always proud and expounding their accomplishments. Bob loved his adopted Town Fort Myers, living in the River District. Making many friends along the way, he enjoyed the restaurants, coffee houses, the Arts and Repertory Theatre.
He is survived and will be missed by his three children: Cheryl Marie Frost, Linda Jean Frost, and Robert Leander. Frost, Jr. Five Grand-Children: Kathleen Marie, Robert Leander, Amanda Leigh, William Robert and Lauren Michelle. Four Great-Grand: Children: Ashley, Dillon, Haley and Abby. Brothers: Ronald, Richard, Raymond, Rodney, and Sister Dorothy.
He is preceded by his wife Dorina (October 2013) and siblings Geraldine, Roy and Roger.
Respecting the wishes of his children, his cremation and services are held for family members.
Donations in his memory are appreciated and made to The American Lung Association.
