IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
Gardner
October 13, 1929 – November 7, 2024
Bob was born and raised in upstate New York and was 95 years old. Bob was a veteran who served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He moved to Florida in 1959, where he worked for RCA at the Missile Test Range located at Patrick Air Force Base. After retiring from RCA, Bob worked for GE at Kennedy Space Center in the VAB (Vertical Assembly Building) in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Bob raised five children, a daughter (Gail Hughes), a son (Patrick Gardner), and 3 adopted sons (Earl, Ranson & George Gardner).
Bob moved in and has been a resident of the Franklin House since 1999.
Most of you knew Bob as a caring and helpful person. If anyone needed something, he was always there. He couldn't say no. He was the president of the Franklin House resident association. He helped multiple managers with numerous office tasks during his years of residency. He was the "Taxi" driver for several other residents to help them get to their appointments, shopping, and other errands until he could no longer drive.
Bob had a love for electronics, as you all know. You could call him when you had a problem or needed help setting up your TV remote, fixing plugs, computer glitches, or making bingo boards. He printed the monthly calendars, programmed the information monitor in the lobby. He was a "Beeeeutiful bingo caller" and his favorite bingo number was 13. He was the leader in Wii bowling. He wanted to teach everyone how to solve the Rubik's Cube (no one could figure it out). He was an avid NASCAR fan, and you better not call on him when the race was on.
We hope that everyone was blessed to know Bob and to know he is a child of God and professed Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
