Robert George Garvey, 73, New Smyrna Beach Florida, passed away, Saturday, February 18, 2017. Robert Garvey was born 12-22-1943 in New York City, New York to George and Frances Garvey. He graduated from Brooklyn Tech in 1961.  Robert joined the United States Army in 1965 and served his country during the Vietnam War, earning a Purple Heart.  On May 30, 1969 he married Anna Marie Conter in Brooklyn, New York. Robert retired from ConEdison in 1999 where he worked for 36 years.  He loved to garden, hunt, and enjoyed everything techy.  Robert also enjoyed mystery and detective shows, and spending time with his family. Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anna Marie Garvey, his two sons, Robert Garvey and his wife Adele of Port Orange, FL, and Kevin Garvey and his wife Lezle of Newburgh, NY; three grandchildren, Cole Garvey, Chelsea and Courtney Chapman, his sister Virginia Osweiler of Edgewater, FL, his brother Ronald Garvey of Struthers, Ohio and several nieces and nephews, and his dog Dottie. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Frances Garvey. A celebration of life service will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754. Date and time to be determined.
