Obituary

Robert (Bob) James Snell of Daytona Beach, Florida and a Resident of Magnolia Manor, passed away on May 11 th , 2021 at the age of 90.  Bob was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 5 th , 1930.  He earned a Civil Engineering degree in 1952 from Oregon State University.  After college, he served his country in the Korean War.  Bob joined his father's construction company, R&D Construction Inc. in the early 60's. The B-1 building at Lockheed Airforce Base was the first of many projects at Lockheed and Dobbins Air Force Base.  In the 1980's, Bob decided to start his own company, Hampton Construction, and continued working in the field until his retirement and ultimately moving to Florida with his sweetheart, Candy.  Bob was a Knights of Columbus and a Founding Member of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock, Georgia.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Bert L Snell and Mary Miller Snell, his son, Stephen Snell (1974), and his beloved wife Candy Snell (2004).  He is survived by his only brother, Richard Snell (Vikki) of Moses Lake, Washington.  He is survived by three sons and two daughters- Barry Snell (Trudy) of Kennesaw, Georgia, Brenda Gerhold (Gary) of Woodstock, Georgia, Brian Snell of Acworth, Georgia, Julie Snell Mullis (Johnnie) of Ormond Beach, Florida and Stuart Snell (Ploy) of Ormond Beach, Florida.  Bob also had 9 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren and one more baby on the way.

We would like to thank all of Robert's caregivers at Magnolia Manor-Sharon, Charlie, Veronica, and The Watkins Family, as well as Kindred& VITAS Hospice.

Thank you, Mom and Dad, for teaching us how to pray.  We wish you both could be with us today, but we know you are both singing and dancing in each other's arms in Heaven.  Today we must say Goodbye and God Bless until we meet again.  We will love and miss you always!

A Graveside service with Military Honors will be held to celebrate Robert's life on May 24 th , 2021 at 11:30 AM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.  Remembrances can be made in the form of contributions to Catholic Relief Services or a charity of your choice.
