Obituary

Robert (Bob) Floyd Kerr, 79, of Grand Island, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024. Born on July 4, 1945, in Trenton, New Jersey, Robert was the son of Floyd and Mae Kerr. A proud patriot, he shared his birthday with the celebration of American independence and carried that sense of purpose throughout his life.

After graduating from Delaware Valley College in 1968, Robert embarked on a diverse and accomplished career that spanned several industries. He began his professional journey as a science teacher which led to the private sector, where he worked as a chemical salesman and later as a chemical researcher. His expertise in horticulture and herbicides made him an authority in the field, and his work left a lasting impact. In addition to his work in the sciences, Robert served as a contractor for the Central Intelligence Agency, where he utilized his technical skills and knowledge in specialized projects.

Robert's legacy extends beyond his professional accomplishments. He was a lifelong learner and a quiet but steady influence on all who knew him. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and songwriting. His generosity, humor, and love for his family and friends will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Robert is survived by Joan, his wife of 52 years, and their three children, Jodie, Robert II (Suzanne,) and Christopher (Shelley,) four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his sister, Sandra Hatton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mae Kerr, his brother-in-law Kenneth Hatton, and his son-in-law, Stephen Andriotty (Jodie.)

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
