Robert M. LeBaron
Robert Moran LeBaron, 77, passed away after a brief illness on July 7, 2024, in Sarasota, FL. Born in St. Johnsbury, VT, he lived in the towns of Columbia, Andover, Granby, and Marlborough, CT. Robert graduated from RHAM High School in Hebron, CT, and went on to earn a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. His career spanned locations across the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Bermuda. He served as the Director of Engineering at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT where he retired in 2015 after 25 years of service. He also proudly served in the 7th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army, with overseas assignment in Germany. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Karen V. Francini of Sarasota, FL; his children: Sean LeBaron of Stafford Springs, CT; Chad LeBaron of Willimantic, CT; Sara Francini and Alistair Paxton of Nyack, NY; and Ryan and Amy Francini of Brooklyn, NY; his four grandchildren: Colin LeBaron of Tolland, CT; Asa and Iona Paxton of Nyack, NY; and Goldie Francini of Brooklyn, NY; his brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Joy LeBaron of Millbrae, CA; his brother-in-law, Gordon MacDonald of Willimantic, CT; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Valentine and sister-in law, Shelley Michaud of Satellite Beach, FL; and many dear nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Martha LeBaron, and sister, Bette MacDonald. Robert's quiet spirit, kindness, and laughter will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service to celebrate his life and burial at the Sarasota National Cemetery will be held at a future date.
