Robert Joseph Markut, 88, of Rotunda West, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on June 5, 1938, in Derby, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Michael Markut and Mary Stickel Markut.

Robert was also preceded in death by Donna L. Markut, his loving wife of 64 years.

Robert is survived by his son, Robert Joseph Markut and his wife, Beth, of Vero Beach, Florida; his daughter, Diane Peitz; and his grandchildren, Robert Markut, Ryan Markut, Michael Peitz, Ricky Peitz, and KP Peitz. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed yardwork, home projects, cooking, fishing, and time with family and friends. He also loved working on his cars, boats, and motorhome.

Bob made friends easily and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Known for his generosity and sincere care for family, friends, and neighbors, he will be deeply missed. Those who knew and loved him will cherish memories of his laugh, quick wit, stamina, and unmatched work ethic, which kept him working well into his 70s.
