Robert Michael
Rodgers
April 29, 1941 – May 19, 2026
Robert Michael Rodgers, 85, peacefully entered his eternal rest on May 19th, 2026, after a long journey gracefully battling Alzheimer’s. His devoted wife Judy cared for him at home until his last breath.
Born in Collingswood N.J. to William Rodgers and Cathrine Sasse Rodgers on April 29,1941, Bob grew up in Tuckerton, N.J. He graduated from Highschool, spent time clamming in the bay, and danced on American Bandstand in his teens. He married Olia Faye Miller and then moved to Florida. They raised 2 children. Bob and Faye later divorced but remained lifelong friends.
As a young man, Bob had an eye for rare and unique antiquities, which he collected most of his life. He loved the outdoors and adventures. Treasure hunting, diving in foreign waters, local dark rivers, lakes and oceans. He loved finding artifacts all of which were treasures to him. Each one came with a story. His adventures provided endless material for his colorful tales of misadventures and hilarious situations.
Bob Married his lifelong partner, Judy Kay. They had a wonderful life together moving and dancing their way around the southeastern United States. Mountains, lakes, rivers, and beaches they experienced the beauty and outdoor activities of them all. Making friends along the way.
Later in life Bob became a professional entertainer. Known as “Whistling Bob”. Bob could whistle any tune perfectly – a skill that remained intact when the Alzheimer’s had robbed him of his words.
With his charismatic charm, smile and perfect pitch voice, Bob crooned and danced his way into the hearts of his audiences. It was hard work, but he loved it! He performed in many venues, The Villages, Ocala and St. Augustine Elkes clubs, Moose lodges, Assisted living homes, and private parties. Several shows along with his singing partner “Town and Country” (Jim).
Bob loved his family and his family loved him, and he loved his dogs! to know Bob was to love him. He will be missed by all.
