Obituary

Robert William “Bob” Paste, 79, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on October 19, 2026. Born on January 21, 1947, in Medford, Massachusetts, Bob was the son of Americo Dominic Paste and Edith Marion White.

Bob proudly served four years in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected his pride as a veteran. Following his education, which included high school and two additional years of study, he built a career as a Volkswagen service manager.

An avid skier and golfer, Bob enjoyed skiing in Zermatt, Switzerland, and spending time on the golf course in The Villages. He also had a talent for cooking and was known for his delicious shrimp scampi and spaghetti sauce. These passions were part of what made him special, but above all, Bob will be remembered for his love of family and the smile that brought warmth to those around him.

Bob shared a lifetime of love and memories with his beloved wife, Pauline Paste, whom he married on December 4, 1967. Their many years together were filled with experiences and moments that will continue to be treasured by those who loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline Paste; his daughter, Kimberly Rotelli, and son-in-law, Thomas Rotelli, of Littleton, Colorado; and his cherished grandchildren, Cyrus, Robert, and Jacqueline. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Paste Jr.

Though Bob’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends, the memories he created, the love he shared, and his unmistakable smile will remain with them always. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is at peace, reunited with loved ones who went before him, and resting in the loving embrace of God.

A funeral service celebrating Bob’s life will be held on November 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist, located at 7801 SE Highway 42, Summerfield, Florida 34491.

In Loving Memory of My Wonderful Husband

You were one in a million, one of a kind, Like a rare crystal, so hard to find.

Your humor will be missed and your loving heart.  It all happened so fast, it’s so sad we had to part.

You were struggling so much, it’s no surprise, That God took your hand and whispered, Just close your eyes.

I will take care of you now, you can rest in peace.  Reunited with your loved ones, and out of pain,  A devastating loss but heaven’s gain.

You will be truly missed and thought of everyday,So many things, we didn’t get a chance to say.  Your memories will last a lifetime.  And fill us all with love.

Now it’s your time to rest and sleep tight.  With the angels up above.
