Robert Paul “Bob” Metz, 78, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on April 19, 2026. Born on August 19, 1947, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Bob lived a life defined by dedication to his family, his profession, and the simple joys that brought him happiness.

Bob was the son of Paul Metz and Violet (Diehl) Metz, who preceded him in death, along with his brother, Thomas Metz.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Diane K. Metz of The Villages, Florida. He was a proud and loving father to Scott R. Metz (Masako) of South Beach, Oregon, and Jeffrey M. Metz (Lisa) of Hershey, Pennsylvania. Bob cherished his role as a grandfather to Phoenix Metz of South Beach, Oregon, and Mia Eisenhauer and Maxwell Eisenhauer of Hershey, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, JoAnn Metz and his nieces, Stacie and Jamie, who held a special place in his life.

Bob built a successful career in the insurance industry, serving as President and part owner of an independent insurance agency, Miers Insurance. His professionalism and commitment to his clients earned him the respected CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) designation, a testament to his expertise and dedication.

He also proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for six years.

In his spare time, Bob found his greatest enjoyment in fishing and golf. Whether casting a line or spending a day on the golf course, he appreciated the peace and camaraderie those hobbies brought. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his work ethic, and the love he had for his family.

Bob’s life was one of quiet strength, loyalty, and devotion. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
