Robert W. Soss, age 69, of Painesville, Ohio passed away August 2, 2026, in The Villages, Florida. Born May 19, 1957, in Painesville to William and Jean Soss, Bob was a Clevelander through and through. When his wife, Alicia Soss passed away April 26, 2017, Bob followed the sun to make the Villages home in 2022.

The constant extrovert, social interactions brought joy to Bob. He had a passion for life and was always trying something new. Boating and time at FHYC created lifelong friendships and memories. Tired of snow-belt winters, Bob decided to live out his retirement years in Florida. He thrived in the Villages and loved hosting driveway parties and soaking up the Florida sun. The golf cart lifestyle suited him well. The only thing better than Florida was visiting his family back home for some Cleveland Guardians baseball, good pizza, and Slyman’s corned beef. He was a proud grandpa and father and cherished his visits. Sitting outside with a good bourbon and cigar along with great company and conversation. As dad would say, “Life is good.”

Survivors include his daughters Chelsea (Soss) Kalinic and Melissa Soss. Son in law and grandchildren Steve, Hannah, and Holden Kalinic. Brother, Mark Soss of NY. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 30 years, Alicia Soss of Chardon. Parents William and Jean Soss of Painesville, parents-in-law Osborne and Shirley Ward of Chardon, and brother, Dale Soss of Euclid. A grave side service and burial at Chardon Municipal Cemetery is planned for September where he will be laid to rest next to Alicia on their anniversary.
