July 16, 2023, Robert James (R.J.) Swift, 74, of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away peacefully at home with his children at his side.

R.J. was born on July 20, 1948, to Robert Franklin and Josephine Mary (Bonaventura) Swift in Detroit, MI. After R.J. graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1966, he went on to get his MBA at Central Michigan University.

R.J. and Sharon Swift were married for 44 years and went on to have 2 children. R.J. worked for the Budd Company for over 30 years and retired leaving behind many friends and co-workers that had great memories of him.  He retired to Florida in 2012, where he resided until his death.

R.J. was predeceased by his father Robert Francis, mother Josephine Mary (Bonaventura) Swift, and sister Janice (Swift) Farrah.  He is survived by his ex-wife, Sharon (Twomey) Swift, daughter Natalie Ann Swift, son John Robert Swift (Kristina Lynn), as well as many cousins and lifelong friends.

R.J. always felt blessed for the many friends he had throughout his life and would say "If I die tomorrow, I have been blessed with more than most people. A wonderful family, and an extended family of great friends."

In honor of his memory, the official Celebration of Life will be planned for family and friends in Michigan- TBD.

In memory of R.J., contributions are suggested to the research of Carcinoid Cancer.
