Robert G Thiers (January 28, 1938 – June 19, 2025) beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on June 19, 2025 after a brief illness.
Those in Bob's family and circle of friends know that he never lost an argument and KNEW EVERYTHING. Bob was devoted to his family and friends above all. He was immensely proud of his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for the sea and enjoyed sailing and fishing. He was an avid golfer. He served several years on the Board and as President of the Jacaranda West Country Club. He loved photography and spending time in Maine. Many will remember his great sense of humor and how he loved to make others laugh.
He was proud of his Brooklyn roots, where he was born, and never really lost his accent. He was the son of George H. Thiers and Helen M. Alexander. He attended Fredonia (NY) High School. He earned degrees at Erie County Technical Institute and the Rochester Institute of Technology. He was a proud member of the U.S. Army and Army Reserves from 1961 to 1969. He was a 38 year employee of Texaco Corporation in the field of industrial lubrication as a sales and district manager for the Northeast Region.
He is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Richard and his devoted wife of 51 years, Gloria A. Kubasik. He is survived by two sons, Scott (Patty) of Bristol, VA and Douglas (Cynthia) of Winchendon, MA as well as four grandchildren, Samantha, Cameron, Colin and Alexis. He is also survived by his loving wife of 7 years, Nancy Merrill.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Robert and his family would appreciate donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital
