Robert C. Tolhurst, affectionately known to friends and family as “Bob” or “Bobby,” was born on April 3, 1944, in Rochester, New York. He passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026, in Summerfield, Florida.

Bob grew up in Rochester, New York, where he attended Monroe High School. He was a hardworking and independent man who eventually established his own painting contracting business, working with various building contractors throughout the Rochester area. His strong work ethic, honesty, and dedication were qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

Bob is survived by his loving spouse, Tina; his three children, Lisa, Tammy and step-daughter, Chrissy; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his two brothers, Donald Tolhurst and Ken Malin along with his sister, Jeanne Holt.

Above all, Bob was a devoted husband and father. To his family, he was a role model, mentor, supporter, and teacher – the kind of husband and father anyone could hope to have. He took great pride in his family and treasured the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bob also had a lifelong passion for classic cars, particularly Corvettes. Over the years, he owned several different classic Corvettes and took great pleasure in the cars, the memories they created, and the people he met through his passion for them.

Those who knew Bob will remember his love, honesty, generosity and willingness to help others. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his family and friends will always cherish the memories they made with him.

Bob leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him deeply. Although he will be greatly missed, his love, lessons, and the memories he created with those around him will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
