Robert “Bob” Wainer passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026.

Bob was born in Gridley, California, in 1942 and grew up in Yuba City alongside his six brothers and sisters. After graduating from high school (Go Honkers!), he proudly served his country in the United States Navy before earning a degree in business.

In the late 1960s, Bob moved east to Connecticut, where he built a career in sales, driven by his strong entrepreneurial spirit. There he met his beloved wife, Margie, and they shared the next 45 years together.

An avid sports fan, Bob spent a lifetime cheering on the San Francisco 49ers, the Boston Red Sox, and especially his favorite, the UCONN Huskies. His passion for sports extended to the golf course, where he played as often as possible—a love for the game that ultimately drew Bob and Margie to move to The Villages, Florida.

Bob truly embraced life in The Villages, where he found a vibrant community, deep friendships, and his perfect role as a Golf Ambassador. He loved music and could frequently be found out in the town square, dancing the night away.

Affectionately known as “Uncle Bobby,” he will be remembered for his jovial, fun-loving nature, and his endless supply of stories. Above all, Bob cherished his family and took immense pride in the strong, loving relationships built within their blended family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robbie Jr. He leaves behind his wife, Margie; his daughter Allyson and son-in-law Mulualem; daughter Laura and son-in-law JB; daughter Joan and son-in-law Pete; and his grandchildren, Mary, Beza, Ethan, Manny and Meadow.

Bob lived a full, joyful life that spanned from Northern California to Connecticut and ultimately to the Florida sunshine he was proud to call home. He leaves behind a grateful family and many dear friends who will deeply miss him.

A private celebration of Bob’s life will be held by his family at a later date.
