Obituary

Robert Warren, known to his family and friends as Bob, passed away at Leesburg Regional Medical Center on April 6, 2025.  He was surrounded by his beloved wife, Susan Kautz and well loved family members, Beth and Dan Hartman.  Susan was by his side throughout his illness. Bob was born in Wiesbaden, Germany on December 12, 1951.  As the son of an Air Force father, Bob spent his childhood in many states, including Texas, Florida and Michigan.
Bob graduated from Mount Clemons High School in Michigan in 1970.  He was a member of the debate team and was active as a news editor of his high school newspaper. He went on to receive the United States Air Force Academy appointment and the State of Michigan Honorary Scholarship.  He attended the USAF Academy and received an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force.
Bob moved from Kalamazoo, Michigan to Carmel, Indiana for the Clystek and White Company in the year 2000 and managed the insurance auditors for the State of Indiana and other surrounding states.  He later worked for Acuity Insurance Company as a phone auditor.  He retired in October of 2022, after moving to The Villages in Central Florida.
He met his future wife, Susan, shortly after moving to Carmel, Indiana.  They built several homes separately and together in Westfield, Indiana.  They built their dream home in Westfield and they moved there in May of 2013 and were married on November 12, 2013 (11/12/13) in Noblesville, Indiana. Bob's son, Caleb Maxam, lived with them while attending Westfield High School.
Bob enjoyed attending the Indianapolis 500 with Susan, as well as many other auto and motorcycle races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He had a long-time love of cats and was upset that he was unable to see them one more time.  Other interests included cooking gourmet meals for his family, fast cars and electronic gadgets.  He enjoyed dining with Susan at the squares in the Villages and listening to his favorite bands, Relic, Blue Stone Circle and Rocky and the Rollers.  He also was an Indianapolis Colts fan and a FSU football fan and he enjoyed watching those games with Susan and other family members.
He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Susan Kautz; son, Caleb Warren Maxam; Sister, Jill Warren, Step-daughters Beth Hartman and Stephanie Kuchler; son-in-law, Dan Hartman and grandchildren,Justin Hartman, Phillip Hartman and Annie Hartman.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Charlotte Warren.
Bob's son, Caleb, is quoted as saying, "Dad, I love you, no matter how much of a stubborn old man you were."  He was very stubborn! Bob was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends and co-workers. Bob was a man who enjoyed his privacy.  He had a wicked sense of humor, quick wit and always a come-back line. Despite that, he was deeply loved by Susan and Caleb, his other family members and all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life for friends and family of Bob and Susan will be held at a later date in The Villages, Florida to honor Bob's memory.
Bob's family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
