Robert Ernest Welch (Bob) 90, of Apopka, FL, passed away peacefully on May 24,2026.
Robert E. Welch was born on July 24,1935 in Holtville, California and grew up in Southern California. After graduating from high school he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton.
In the late 1960’s Bob began a distinguished career with Walt Disney. His work took him from Disneyland to Walt Disney World, where he was part of the original team responsible for opening the EPCOT Center Preview Center.
He later continued with American Broadcasting Company(ABC) before founding his own consulting firm, Leisure Innovation Group, Unique Consultants Inc.
Throughout his career, Bob shared his extensive expertise in the leisure, hospitality, theme park and water park industries, contributing to projects both over the United States and internationally. He earned the respect and admiration of clients and colleagues alike for his knowledge, professionalism and dedication.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed owning and riding many different models throughout the years. He had fond memories of the rides with family and friends. In his later years he found enjoyment listening to a wide variety of books and music.
Most importantly he devoted his heart and life to Jesus Christ. He found strength, comfort and peace in his faith.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Place. His children, Lori Powell,( husband Phil), Bob Welch (wife Tiffany) and Jim Welch (wife Cathy). Grandchildren, Stacy Wilson, Michael Powell, Daniel Powell, Cassandra Welch Bennett, Austin Welch. Great-Grandchildren, Lex and Luke Wilson, Sophia Powell, Owen, Nora and Stella Powell, Quinn Bennett.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
