Robert Harold Wipert

December 4, 1942 – September 15, 2026

Robert Harold Wipert, 83, passed away on September 15, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him deeply.

Robert (Bob) was born on December 4, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Harold and Esther Wipert. He graduated from Sandburg High School and continued his education at Northern Illinois University.

A proud United States Navy veteran, Bob served his country during the Vietnam War. His service was an important part of his life and a source of great pride.

On October 6, 1967, Bob married Diane Cooper in Palos Hills, Illinois. Together, Bob and Diane built a life centered around family, hard work, and the many places they would come to call home during nearly 59 years of marriage.

Bob was an entrepreneur and the proud owner of Hills Paint Company, Inc. in Palos Hills from 1971 to 1989. Through the business, he built not only a career but also lasting relationships within the community where he and Diane raised their family.

Bob and Diane later moved from Palos Hills to Leesburg, Indiana, where Bob embraced one of the great joys of his life—living on Lake Tippecanoe. He loved the lake life and, most importantly, the time it allowed him to spend with his family. The lake became a place where memories were made, family gathered, and time together was treasured.

In 2020, Bob and Diane began another chapter when they moved to The Villages, Florida.

Above all, Bob was a husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest legacy can be found in the family he leaves behind and in the memories they will carry forward.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Wipert; his children, Jennifer (Jerred) Reiff and Tim (Jessica) Wipert; and his five grandchildren, Jacob, Jonathan, Gavin, Owen, and Ava.

From Chicago and Palos Hills, to the shores of Lake Tippecanoe, and finally to Florida, Bob’s life was marked by service to his country, pride in his work, and, most importantly, devotion to his family.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Baldwin Brothers, A Funeral & Cremation Society with a private graveside ceremony on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
