Obituary

Robert Jack Ford Wood passed away unexpectedly on 17 July 2023. He is survived by his parents, Mike and Maureen Wood, biological mother Cheryl Daniluk, grandmother Dolores Fitzgerald, grandfather Al Jones, brothers Christopher Wood, wife Megan, Chevy George, and Billy Davidson and sister, Melissa Ford; Uncle Bob and Aunt Jeanie, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Mark, Aunt Doe, Uncle Mike, Uncle Bill, Aunt Karen and Uncle Terry; nephews Caleb, Cayden, Carter and niece, Madison; and many loving cousins and second cousins.

Robert was a genuine example of living and speaking his truth. He was an advocate for inclusivity and enjoyed challenging individuals who did not see his political perspective, always using discourse and keeping an open mind. Robert was a staunch supporter of minority groups and his community and always found and believed in the goodness of others.

Robert was very interested in psychology and understanding the human mind. An addict in recovery, he was fascinated by how the human mind coped with and overcame trauma from both personal and interpersonal perspectives. Robert believed in helping addicts like himself, and was so passionate about it that he worked in a Rehabilitation Center in Tampa.

Robert loved traveling and adventuring. He fell in love with the city of Salem, Massachusetts and its haunted history from the witch trials and often spoke about living there or in Boston one day. He had traveled across the country with his brother to Oregon and looked forward to experiencing environments where people could enjoy freedom in a liberal lifestyle.

Robert dreamed of becoming a gym owner one day where he would be able to combine his passion for weight lifting and nutrition with a fitness focus. He wanted to help clients achieve their goals for their body physique and had big plans to compete one day in a body physique competition. You could always find Robert in the gym working hard towards his own fitness goals!

Robert didn't just adore his family and friends, he also loved animals as well. He had a real affinity for reptiles, to include his bearded dragon as a child and ball python snake as an adult. Robert was able to build a special connection to all living creatures and express his love.

Robert always lit up the room with his genuine smile and handsome looks, and his charisma. He was the life of the party with his comic relief and his ability to relate. To say he will be missed would be an understatement. His sweet soul will live on with his family and friends forever! Robert will be forever adored, missed, and loved!

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Robert on Sunday, July 30th from 4-6pm at the Coronado Civic Center, 150 Pine St, New Smyrna Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous at contribution.aa.org
