Robert R. Zellermayer, 100, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025. Born on March 14, 1925, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Robert lived a remarkable century filled with love, laughter, service, and accomplishment.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jacque Zellermayer; his sons Bruce Zellermayer and his wife Patricia Zellermayer, Chuck Zellermayer and his wife Janet Zellermayer, and David Zellermayer; and his cherished grandchildren Rob Zellermayer, Morgan Chapiewsky, and Kim Hoppe, Alison Lowry, Clayton Zellermayer, Bradley Zellermayer, Nicole Richmond, and Heather Zellermayer and great-grandchildren, Christine Lowry, William Lowry III, Brynlee Zellermayer, and Sloan Zellermayer, Jackson Zellermayer, Nolan Zellermayer, Taryn Hoppe, Evelyn Hoppe, Betsy Chapiewsky, Molly Chapiewsky, Sage Mallard, Luna Zellermayer , Lily Zellermayer, Arianna Zellermayer, Solara Herren, Elijah Herren, Devon Hughes, Dustin Hughes, and Kaitlyn Hughes who brought him boundless pride and joy.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Charles Zellermayer; his sister, Charolette; and several beloved pets who held a special place in his heart.
A proud veteran, Robert served in the United States Air Force with distinction, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His commitment to duty and country was a defining part of his life, and he will be laid to rest with full military honors.
Professionally, Robert had a vibrant and varied career. He began in radio broadcasting, where his voice and personality resonated with listeners. Later, he became a successful entrepreneur, owning Wall Papers of Columbia. His leadership extended to the community, where he served as Vice Commodore of the Miami Yacht Club and held roles as President and Board Member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
A man of many interests, Robert found great joy in sailing, golfing (including a proud hole-in-one), growing orchids, and participating in dog show competitions. His enthusiasm was infectious, and his presence brought warmth and laughter to any room.
Gregarious, funny, and charming, Robert was truly loved by all who knew him. Above all, he was deeply devoted to his family. His care and affection for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no bounds, and his legacy lives on in the lives he shaped with love.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
