IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robin Lee
Story
February 6, 1946 – March 28, 2026
Robin Story (née Bloomenshine), 80, of Dunedin, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones March 28th, 2026. Born in Peoria, Illinois February 6th, 1946, Robin was the daughter of Robert and Joan Bloomenshine. She grew up in Peoria alongside her sister Jo, treasuring her Midwestern roots and the close family bonds that shaped her warm, thoughtful spirit. Robin shared many joyful years with her husband, Donald W. Story, who predeceased her in 2013. Following his passing, she relocated full-time to Dunedin, Florida, in 2013, where she embraced the sunny community and pursued her passions with enthusiasm. She loved playing tennis, challenging herself at Bridge, and being an active member of the Windlasses sailing club, where she enjoyed the camaraderie, races, and the thrill of being on the water. Robin is remembered for her kindness, grace, and the deep love she showed her family—she often left heartfelt tributes for others in their times of loss, reflecting her caring nature. Robin is survived by her son, Kyle Smith, and his wife, Andrea; her grandchildren, Ian and Ali; stepson, Donald Story and wife, Christine; her sister, Jo Sternberg; and her nieces, Kelly Oldfield and Shannon Orrill. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald W. Story; her parents, Robert and Joan Bloomenshine; and her nephew, Michael Mason. A memorial service will be held at a later date, with details to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Windlasses sailing club. Robin lived a full life filled with love, grace, and quiet strength. She bridged her Illinois beginnings with her vibrant Florida years, touching many—especially her cherished family and friends—with her warmth, competitive spirit on the court or at the table, and joy on the sails. She will be deeply missed.
