Obituary

Roger Anacki, 81, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away February 2, 2026.

Roger was born in Brooklyn, New York to Stanley and Pauline Anacki on November 20,1944. He graduated from Aviation High School.

Roger married Anne Morehouse on July 6,1968 and recognized he was the luckiest man in the world. He was blessed with 57 ½ years of marriage to his best friend, the love of his life.

Roger served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Japan.

Roger and Anne raised their family in Mastic Beach, New York. He worked for most of his career at Cantor Brothers, a hardware store wholesaler in Farmingdale, New York. When Cantor Brothers closed, he worked for Luitpold until he retired and relocated to Florida. There, he commenced a new vocation as a driver for Meals On Wheels. Roger felt proud to work for an organization that helped so many in need, cared deeply for those he served, and was recognized for his efforts.

While living in Mastic Beach, Roger loved to work in his vegetable garden. He created an extensive garden each year, with tomatoes, peppers and eggplant among his favorite crops. Roger loved to cook for his family. He and Anne were a team, preparing large meals to celebrate special events, holidays and homecomings. Whether preparing his famous chicken parm or creating a huge, Thanksgiving style feast in the middle of July, he was appreciated as a wonderful chef. Most of all, he loved taking cruises with his Anne. Roger enjoyed planning cruises, so he always had something to look forward to.

Roger was rich in love, and his family meant the world to him. Though a quiet man, he communicated his love for and pride in every member of his family. When his disabled brother-in-law came to live with him and Anne for many years, Roger felt blessed rather than burdened. Roger was Joey’s favorite person in the world.

Roger is survived by his wife, Anne; his sons, Roger Anacki of Seminole, FL; Paul (Heather) Anacki of East Haven, CT; and William (Nicole) Anacki of Largo, FL; his daughters, Anne (Bill) Bunting of New Port Richey, FL; Pauline (Eric) Damery of Dunedin, FL; Tabitha (Kurt) Greller of New Port Richey, FL; and bonus daughter, Joyce Harding of Palm Bay, FL; his grandchildren, Courtney, Stephen, Alex, Emma, Lexi, John, Christian, Rachel and Roslyn; his sister, Lynda (Ed) Pesce; his sisters-in-law, Ellie Lowth, Kitty Morehouse, and Terry Uhlmann; his brothers-in-law, Chuck (Pat) Morehouse, Bobby (Monica) Morehouse, and Joey Morehouse; and many nieces and nephews. Roger was predeceased by his parents, brothers-in-law Werner Uhlmann, John Lowth, and John Morehouse, and sister-in-law Peggy Morehouse.

Private cremation has taken place and no services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Meals On Wheels in memory of Roger.
