Roger Normand Choquette, 70, of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on December 5, 1955, in Fall River, MA, Roger was the son of the late Rene and Doris (Lassonde) Choquette. He leaves behind his beloved wife and soulmate, Andrea Choquette. He was a devoted father to Karen Fish (Jesse), David Choquette (Raquel), and Jennifer Martin (James), and a proud and loving "Papa" to his cherished grandchildren; Tatyana, Savannah, Ethan, Hailey, Lynnea, Ava, Lucas, Dexter, and Libby, who were the light of his life.
Roger is also survived by his brothers Robert Choquette, Sr. and Raymond Choquette, his sisters Joan Southworth and Sandra Massey, and many nieces and nephews who adored him. He was predeceased by his beautiful daughter Elizabeth Choquette, his parents, his brother Rene “Chuck” Choquette, and his sister Marie Pratt.
Roger grew up in Westport, MA, where he developed his hardworking spirit and mischievous sense of humor. After graduating from Westport High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, ME, as a Medical Material Specialist from 1975 to 1979. His years of service reflected his lifelong dedication to helping others and his unwavering sense of duty.
Following his military service, Roger returned home to Fall River, MA, with his family and built a career. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Fisher College in 1981 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Johnson & Wales University in 1984. Dedicated and hardworking, Roger spent decades providing for his family, most notably serving as Director of Procurement for the Acushnet Company (Titleist) from 1987 to 2011. He later earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from Johnson & Wales University in 1994.
After retiring from the corporate world, Roger embraced one of his lifelong passions as a gun enthusiast and followed his entrepreneurial spirit by opening Flint Armament, Inc., which he proudly owned and operated from 2011 to 2017. Never one to slow down, Roger continually sought new ways to grow and serve others. Later in life, guided by his deep compassion and desire to make a difference, he pursued a second career in healthcare. He earned his Diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing from Diman School of Practical Nursing in 2017, followed by his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Herzing University in 2024. At the time of his passing, Roger was working with UF Health in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, where his kindness, patience, and empathy touched the lives of his patients, colleagues, and all who knew him.
Roger believed strongly in giving back to his community. He served on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Center in New Bedford, MA, as a Public Education Staff Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and was an active member of the American Legion, Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
To those who knew him, Roger was a steady presence. He was the one you could always count on for a good laugh, a helping hand, or a piece of sound advice. His quick wit, generosity, and warmth made every gathering brighter. He loved sharing stories, cheering for his New England Patriots, and being surrounded by the people he loved most.
Roger’s greatest joy was his family, and his love for them will continue to guide and comfort them every day. His was a life well-lived, full of purpose, laughter, and love.
The family extends heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love and support from friends and loved ones during this difficult time. In keeping with Roger’s wishes, a private service will be held, with a celebration of life to take place at a later date.
