Obituary

Ronald C. Davis, lovingly known as Ron, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, at the age of 72, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on November 30, 1951, in Gainesville, Florida, to RC Davis and Mable Louise Davis.

Ron was a man who lived a life full of service, dedication, and joy. He proudly served two years in the U.S. Army as a Military Police officer. He later established Ron Davis Construction, where he worked as a general contractor. Ron was deeply devoted to his wife, Debora S. Davis, and together they celebrated 54 years of marriage.

An avid outdoorsman, Ron loved spending time in nature, especially on the water. He cherished activities like lobstering, scalloping, and fishing. He also found fulfillment in helping others, whether it was by fixing a tire or helping with any other task that came his way.

Ron's impact on his community was immeasurable. He was a dedicated member of the Elk Club, where he enjoyed being a part of events and activities. Known for his sense of humor and lighthearted nature, he was also a clown and balloon artist who participated in many parades and community events.

In addition to his passion for service, Ron enjoyed cooking for school, church, and nursing home fundraisers. He helped coach basketball and cross-country at Tavares High School and served as a deacon for many years, always assisting with the needs of his church community.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Debora S. Davis, and their children: Ronald C. Davis II (wife Breanne), and Stacey D. Farr (husband Erik). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Rylee Davis, and Faith and Sydney Farr. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, RC Davis and Mable Louise Davis.

He will be deeply missed by his extended family, including his sister Betty Dumm (husband Tim), and Susan Soltysiak (husband Jim), and his beloved grandchildren, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and dedication.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held on November 30, honoring the legacy of service and love he left behind. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Ron's name to the Cornerstone Hospice House of Tavares.
