Obituary

Ronald Taft Fiske, 81, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 6, 2026, at the

Tidewell Hospice - Lakewood Ranch Hospice House. Born in Hohenwald, Tennessee, and

raised in Southgate, Michigan, Ron’s journey took him to Southern California before he

ultimately retired in Florida.

Ron made a career by working in the Power Resources Industry. He started at the bottom by

scraping fish, shoveling coal, and working at Fermi Nuclear Power Plant in Michigan to

managing the Power Resources Group for a California Municipality.

An adventurer at heart, Ron truly lived life by taking the road less traveled. As a child his

mother used to lovingly call him ‘A Fart in a Whirlwind’. His boundless energy and spirit led

him to run marathons, play handball, volleyball, ski, rock climb, hike, and enjoy horse

tournaments. His passion for exploration took him around the world three times, with

Australia, Japan and Nepal holding a special place in his heart.

Ron shared 41 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Catherine Elizabeth Fiske. Together,

they built a unique life filled with love, laughter, and an unforgettable sense of silliness.

Their bond was unparalleled; in 2001, Ron gave Catherine the ultimate gift of life by

donating a kidney to her. His legacy and spirit will forever live on through her.

In accordance with his wishes, Ron will be cremated and a private Celebration of Life will

take place in the future. May he rest in peace.
