It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Lee Joiner, 84, of Leesburg, FL, on January 26, 2025. Raised in Cave-In-Rock, IL, and later Hartford, CT, Ron went on to live in Granby, CT, before retiring to Leesburg, FL, where he resided for the past 20 years.

Ron was the beloved husband of Bernadette Dumas Joiner for 64 years, and together they shared a life full of love and memories. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Lorie Tencati, and son-in-law, Steven; his granddaughter, Allison Marte, and her husband Anthony, along with his adored great-granddaughter, Remi; and granddaughter, Jana French. Ron is also survived by his sister, Annette Connors, and her husband, Jim, along with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry Discenza and Madeline (from Canada), and his sister-in-law, Ceceil Sullo, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Ronald L. Joiner, Jr., who tragically passed away in 1999. This loss deeply affected Ron and his family, but Ronnie's memory and spirit remained a constant presence in their lives. Ron was also predeceased by his dad, Bruce Joiner; mom, Estelle Joiner; sister, Betty Joiner; and his brother, Loren (Sonny) Joiner.

A dedicated and skilled master electrician, Ron worked in Hartford, CT, for 40 years, leaving a lasting impact on his industry and the lives of many apprentices. He was widely respected and honored for his expertise and mentorship.

Outside of work, Ron was a man of many passions. He excelled in both ten-pin and duck-pin bowling and was a competitive athlete who loved basketball in his youth. Later in life, he became an avid golfer and bocce player, securing numerous championships with his bocce teams and even achieving a hole-in-one in golf. Ron and Bernadette were also long-time season ticket holders for the University of Connecticut's men's and women's basketball teams, often enjoying the excitement of supporting their teams together.

As a dedicated family man, Ron could frequently be found cheering for his daughter Lorie and son-in-law Steven at their softball games at Legacy. These moments, filled with camaraderie and friendship, were among the many special memories he held dear.

In honor of Ron's love of sweets, a Celebration of Life will be held February 16th from 1:00 to 2:30 PM at Legacy of Leesburg, in Leesburg, FL, with the theme of "Sweets," featuring cookies and desserts—his absolute favorite food.

Ron's legacy of kindness, dedication, and joy for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace, and they will forever cherish the memories of a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
