IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Lewis
Kirk
June 10, 1943 – July 25, 2023
Ronald Lewis Kirk passed away on July 25, 2023 in Englewood, Florida at the age of 80.
Ronnie was born in Berea, Ohio on June 10, 1943. He was raised in Millwood, Ohio, where he learned how to swim in the Kokosing river, shoot a BB gun at targets, (some better choices than others), and how to fix almost anything requiring mechanical aptitude. He spent his retirement in Englewood, Florida. He wishes to be remembered as someone who was always true to himself. His favorite song was "My Way", and he was a fan of both renditions by Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
He graduated from Danville High School. Ronnie served four years in the US Air Force. He operated multiple family businesses: D. A. Kirk & Sons Millwood Mills, Kirk Trucking, Kirk Tire Service and The Derrick Inn. In his career, he was employed by Cooper, B&J Drilling and Wenco/JELD-WEN.
He was a member of Englewood Christian Church. He was also a member of the social organizations The Eagles and VFW. He enjoyed NASCAR, Street Rods, boating in Florida and (spending time with) his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Lewis Kirk, mother Gertrude "Peg" (Summers) and twin brother Donnie Kirk.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Sue (Busenburg) Kirk, three sons: Tim (Jane) Kirk, Tory (Vickie) Osborne, Scotty (Nikki) Osborne, and six grandchildren: Chloe, Hugh, Ana, Cody, Evan, and Trevor.
Ronnie's immediate family will hold a private celebration of life.
Memorial contributions in Ronnie's name may be made to Englewood Christian Church.
