IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Patrick
Davis
April 9, 1941 – April 19, 2025
Ronald Patrick Davis died unexpectedly on April 19, 2025 in The Villages, Florida. He was 84 years old. Our family is heartbroken and deeply saddened by his sudden death. Ronnie, as he was affectionately known, was born April 9, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Gay (nee Brown) of 40 years, and his children: son Brent Davis (Lori) of The Villages, FL, and stepsons Mark Phillips (Jennifer) of Burke, VA, and Matt Phillips (Lori) of Plain City, OH. Ronnie will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his grandchildren, Brandon Davis (Anne), Hilliard, OH, Alex Davis, Columbus, OH, Dr. Amanda Davis (fiancée Ryan Gross), Cincinnati, OH, Allison White (James) Lancaster, OH, Megan Phillips Rodriguez, Lexington Park, MD and Grace Phillips (fiancée Nathan Girot) Westminster, Maryland, Mark Phillips and Addisen Madden, Burke, VA, Lacey Phillips, Plain City, OH and Kylee Phillips, Plain City, OH. Ronnie also leaves behind his beloved great grandson Wesley Davis, Hillard, OH, and great grandchildren George and Nora Martin and Wylder White, Lancaster, OH and Leia and Alina Rodriquez, Lexington Park, MD. He also leaves behind his sister Sandy Thomas (George) of Orange Township, OH.
Ron was predeceased by his mother Kathleen (nee Willard) and father Quinten Russell. He was also predeceased by his in-laws Charles and Frances Brown of McLean, VA.
While he was born in Dayton, he quickly made his way to Upper Arlington and then Granville, Ohio where he graduated in the class of 1959. He was a star athlete who made lifelong friends there. He would want me to mention his mischievous partner and lifelong friend, Steve Been, who he dearly loved and stayed in contact with and visited for nearly 70 years! After high school he played football at Vanderbilt University before transferring to Ohio State where he finished his bachelor's degree, in English of all things!
Ron spent his entire 50-year career in commercial real estate. He was a long-time real estate broker, MAI and ultimately a very successful commercial real estate investor. He and his son Brent worked together for many years along with his daughter-in-law Lori. Ronnie, big picture guy and Brent and Lori handled the details. There were many details! He touched many people's lives in this capacity and made many friends along the way, perhaps none more important than his dear friend and business partner Kent Miller and his wife Judy.
He and Gay travelled the world together for many years, even taking grandchildren to London, Paris and Italy. We had many wonderful family trips to Northern Michigan and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They enjoyed many years in Naples, Florida and Dublin, Ohio before spending the last two and half years in The Villages, Florida. He could plan a trip like no other.
His legacy will live on forever reminding us that we all control our own destinies through our positive attitudes, our efforts and our common concern for each other. His greatest legacy is how he loved and took care of his family. He loved to brag about his family's achievements. He will be dearly remembered and missed by many. We are incredibly blessed and grateful to his neighbors and golfing buddies for being there for him and us during this painful time. There are no words that can express our gratitude. He loved you all so much! Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Ron and the Davis Family!
As per Ronnie's wishes, a graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 17th, Granville, Ohio with a gathering to immediately follow.
