Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Dale Kenyon passed away peacefully at his home on February 14, 2026.

He was 78, born December 23, 1947, in Troy, New York.

He is survived by his wife Diane, brother Wynn (Sherry), brother Craig, sister Kathy and special "cuz" Cindy. He is survived by his daughter Desiree, son Jeremy, step sons David (Dorothy), Darrel (Kim), Douglas, Dwight (Jeannie) and grand children Ben, Josh, Jaden, Dillan, Eva and Dominic.

Ron was an all American. He served bravely in the Marines as a helicopter gunner in the Vietnam war and received a purple heart. After his service, he took his Marine electronics training and started a successful small business. After a successful venture he retired in Florida.

Throughout his life, he quietly spent time in service to others. He was the unseen audio visual technician at his church in North Carolina. He also worked hard all of his life and made life easier for others. When he retired he spent time volunteering in his community in Oak Run as a web site information technology support member. The last few years, he enjoyed hiking, camping and wildlife photography.

He battled cancer at the end of his life and lost the battle. We would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at West Marion hospital. Everyone at the Florida cancer center worked tirelessly to help him in his battle. A special thanks to Dr. Oberoi for all of her fine care and loving kindness. She was with him from the first visit in the hospital and fought hard right along side him with his treatments to kill the cancer. Thank you to all of the nurses that worked tirelessly for him, and a special thanks to Greg for his outstanding help.

We would like to thank VITAS hospice care and most especially his nurse, P'Laur. She gave him wonderful care but also courage and love to face the end. Her visits were the highlight of the day.

In lieu of a funeral service held inside, he wanted all of his family, friends and loved ones to take some time on February 22nd to go out in nature and think of him while they enjoy the outdoors.
